A beautiful day in the Gilman-Smith Courtyard welcomed more than 200 staff members of the Facilities Design, Planning and Construction (FDP&C) department for the Summer Grill Kick-off employee appreciation event on June 23.

The event acknowledged FPD&C staff members for their hard work and dedication to UCM. “This is my way of saying thanks for a job well done,” said Marco Capicchioni, vice president of FPD&C. “My team is committed to maintaining the campus and understands that providing patients and employees top-notch facilities supports the mission of UCM.”

During the event, staff members were treated to a hearty lunch of traditional barbecue favorites, such as hamburgers, hot dogs and all of the “fixings,” while listening to the sounds of smooth jazz.

“We get to mingle with our fellow colleagues, and Marco takes the time to speak to each of us,” said Emma Coleman, a FDP&C team member.  “It feels great to know that the services we provide on campus are appreciated.”

This is one of four annual FPD&C staff appreciation events.
