UChicago Medicine Partners with Walsh Construction
When building its state-of-the-art facilities, the University of Chicago Medicine searches for firms that have strong competencies in the health care landscape and understands the importance of partnership and collaboration to a project’s success. With more than 100 years of experience, Walsh Construction was selected to assist UChicago Medicine in the development of several high-level construction projects.
Walsh Construction, a Chicago-based design, build, finance and operations company, has been consistently recognized as one of the largest contractors in Chicago according to Crain’s Chicago Business.
Under their healthcare division, Walsh Construction has managed major hospital development projects in Illinois including the John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County and LaGrange Memorial Hospital. Walsh was selected to spearhead the construction on UChicago Medicine’s Heart and Vascular Imaging Center and new infusion therapy clinic in the Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine (DCAM).
“We are honored to partner with the University of Chicago Medicine,” said, Dan Walsh, president of Walsh Construction. “These projects at DCAM will further enhance the advanced services of the University, and ultimately benefit the patients and families in our community.”
Recently, Walsh was awarded the construction contract by the Village of Orland Park to build the 530-space parking garage that will compliment UChicago Medicine’s Center for Advanced Care at Orland Park. Both construction projects are scheduled for completion in late 2016.
