University of Chicago Medicine and Biological Sciences

Overview
  • The new $21.6 million, 20,000-square- foot outpatient cancer-treatment center located on the campus of Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox brings together University of Chicago specialists and their access to advanced and investigational therapies in a community hospital setting. The facility will provide state-of-the-art chemotherapy and radiation therapy, as well as access to innovative clinical trials.

The University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center at Silver Cross Hospital marked its first anniversary in June 2013. Thanks to daily multidisciplinary videoconferences, referrals, and discussions about clinical trials, the program in New Lenox has been able to grow remarkably and is an example of how UCM collaborations enhance care for patients throughout the region.
