University of Chicago Medicine and Biological Sciences

Overview
  • Located at the corner of 143rd Street and LaGrange Road, The University of Chicago Medicine, Center for Advanced Care at Orland Park will open its doors on December 13, 2016. The four-srory 108,00 square-foot facility  cost 61 million dollar to build. This is the largest UCM off-site facility, having 80 exam rooms and outpatient services that will include primary care, women’s health, digestive diseases, heart & vascular, orthopedics / sports medicine, and oncology. In 2017 CVS will open a separate drug store on the first floor of the building.

The Centers for Advanced Care at Orland Park and South Loop complement the five ambulatory care centers run by Ingalls throughout the South and Southwest suburbs. The process of aligning UCM with Ingalls is also well underway. Several working teams across both campuses are implementing changes in supply chain, information technology and other areas that will improve our ability to provide access to quality patient care in the South and Southwest suburbs.

Finally, our partnership with Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers (LCMH) will allow us to bring our cancer care expertise, academic specialists, and an array of clinical trials to LCMH early next year. A team of physicians, nurses, pharmacists, nurse navigators and other healthcare professionals from both organizations will treat patients at the Evergreen Park location of The Cancer Center at LCMH. Services will include an infusion center, radiation therapy, specialty clinic services, genetic counseling, and clinical trials, plus traditional inpatient and outpatient services.
