Can I plug my laptop computer into your media podium?
Yes, all of our media podiums are equipped a VGA and HDMI cable in the cabinet. In some cases if a Mac is used you will need the special Apple adaptor which came with your laptop to connect into our VGA or HDMI cable.
Why can’t I get the picture from my laptop to come up on the monitor/screen?
With a Mac, select System Preferences > Display > Detect Displays. Do this after you have connected to the VGA cable. With PC laptops there is no standard on sending the video signal out. Most involve pressing a combination of the function key (fn) and one of the F keys located at the top row of the keyboard. Do this after you have connected your laptop to the VGA cable. Please refer to your owner’s manual to learn how to send the video signal out of your particular laptop.
How can I get training on the media podium and system before my event?
Call us at 773-702-6265 and our coordinator can schedule a training session in one of our classrooms/lecture halls with a technician.
Do you offer equipment rental?
Yes, based on equipment availability we can provide various types of equipment for a nominal fee.
Do you offer equipment delivery on and off site?
Yes, for $75 we will deliver and pickup your audiovisual equipment orders which includes UChicago Medicine and off-site locations. Additional fees may apply for labor.
Do you offer special events setups?
During regular business hours from 7AM to 4:30PM, our technicians will setup, run and breakdown your event. We also offer free consultations to help you decide what equipment is needed for your particular event.
Do you offer video production services?
Our qualified staff is experienced in every stage of video production using the latest technology. This includes filming, editing and creating content.
Do you repair AV equipment?
Yes in some cases. However, most equipment and repairs are handled through our certified vendor, who makes the repairs based on an hourly rate and materials fee.
